Happy Pride! Love is Love
Happy Pride folks! 🏳️🌈
I wanted to kick off Pride month today with this simple minimalist card. I used the new Painted Rainbow background stamp from Simon Says Stamp and the Luggage Tag alpha set from Hero Arts to bring this card to life. You can find the full list of supplies used for this project linked below.
Though it’s a really simple card, it was definitely a labor of love. After inking up the background I cut the letters straight from the background and then cut 3 more of each letter out of plain white cardstock. That’s 40 cut out letters for a single card for those keeping score at home! I then layered up all the white letters with the final colored letter on top to give a pop of elegant dimension.
Sure, we could have just used some foam dots for the dimension, but I really love the look of stacked cardstock. I feel it’s a bit more elegant looking — and it’s better for the environment!
This particular background stamp is a pull-apart stamp which means each stripe in the rainbow can be pulled apart from the rest of the stamp. This makes it really easy to ink up each stripe one by one without accidentally inking up the other stripes by mistake. Pull-apart stamps really open of the door of possibilities when using your normal rubber background stamps.
